[AT] Air compressor failure

The problem with this theory is that if the compressor is turning on OK, but not turning off, or at least turning off after a longer than normal time, then either:
1 - the compressor itself is weak/damaged/worn out and not able to generate the 125psi that the switch is set to
2 - the compressor is not being told to shut off, so the pressure is rising and rising and rising past the switch’s set point to a pressure at which the relief valve should let go.
1 seems the more likely scenario - it’s just taking longer to get to 125psi as the compressor has aged and worn.

Every once in a blue moon it will fail to cut the pump on when the pressure drops below it’s rated psi. All I have to do is cut the power, run a little emery cloth over the points, and then all is well for another long while.

I'm going to check a few things that you folks have asked about and see if any are contributing such as low compressor oil, plugged intake filter or a leaking outlet line and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions.
