Herb,

I don't know enough about JD GP's to properly comment but..... This
particular model of the GP there were only 388 made and this particular
parts tractor has many of the parts that are hard to find, To be honest I
didn't know that a GP Cross Over complete and restored was worth this much.
I'll ask Gordon next time we talk to see if he can properly explain this
phenomenon Gordon knows more than most about GP's. In fact he was going to
write a book on the JD GP's until he was talked out of it by JR Hobbs. JR's
warning was that there would be not enough old GP collectors left to buy
the book in adequate quantity. What seems to going on in the JD collecting
environment right now is the two cylinder collectors have moved on past the
Letter series, A, B, L, M & H and are now into the numbered series tractors
such as the 10, 20 and 30 series tractors. I've focused my collection on
the 20 Series and I'm 80 years old. Won't be long and those of us who had
hands on experience with the two cylinders will be gone. However, I'm only
going to live to be 90 years of age and then I'm going to be shot by a
jealous 28 year old husband.
