Phil,

Years back I used to work with a truck bed and semi manufacturer from West Virginia. They used Apiton as standard on both truck flatbeds and semi flatbeds. They were convinced it was the best you could get.

He had bought a good sized lot of it at an auction. I intended to get with him and ask how it worked out for him, but he seems to have disappeared from the list and I've lost his contact info. Anyone else have any experience with Apitong for trailer decks? I need to redeck my 1997 vintage trailer as the treated lumber is looking pretty bad and I wouldn't trust it if I had to haul my Farmall M.

As Brad and Cecil also mentioned there are plenty of treatment options to maximize longevity. I like working with poplar for a lot of different reasons, but rot resistance is not one of them :-)
