Agco largely quit using Perkins engines, for what it is worth. I think some of the Fendts have MAN engines. VW owns MAN.

Cecil Bearden AT List member, Oklahoma farmer, and Professional Engineer (crbearden at copper.net);
Kubota is supplying a lo of engines for different applications. Skid steers, Reefer units, power units for trucks when parked at night... They stepped in when Perkins could not meet the emissions requirements. When Cat bought Perkins I would imagine the prices for engines went up too.

Carl Gogol Kubota Fan Manlius NY AT List member (cgogol1971 at gmail.com); <snip> - I can't explain Fendt, bur Kubota's top ranking is due to the beautiful, near Persian Orange 2, paint jobs. The fact that the engines just don’t quit and they look like they are built to last may also have some influence in the rankings. <snip>
