I have some of those locust trees on the farm. They make the best firewood; burn very hot; I can only use them as firewood when it is real cold. They can be worked like any other wood; I keep a hatchet handy and just knock off the thorns. I only had a thorn go through a front tire once; a tire that was marginal anyway; and patched the tube. I didn't run over the brush with the tractor; just burned the brush. Although I have a dozer, I did not use it for working those areas.

I am needing to help someone clean up area with Locust trees that are full of thorns. These turns are 2” to 3” long. I know the best way to work with this is to use a dozer or track how, but I do not have either of these, or a huge pile of $$$ to rent them.
Question is what is a cost effective way to thorn proof tractor tires??
