[AT] Craftsman Warranties

Been meaning to send this out for the last week or so. Sometime back I posted a phone number for getting to a “warranty specialist” at Sears instead of calling the standard number that the stores give you. That phone number no longer works. I called a couple of times for warranty on a Craftsman C-clamp and got a message that the number is no longer in service. Called the regular number and talked to a representative who indicated that they were changing how they handled the warranties. Apparently it's based on where you purchased the tool .... Sear, Kmart, ACO, etc. Since I purchased the C-clamp at Sears, and it is no longer available (they didn’t even recognize the part number), I was told to go to ShopYourWay.com and find something close to what I’m trying to get warranted. I found one close to what I have for $15.99, but it indicated that it “wasn’t available in my area” and “wasn’t available for shipping”. When I was talking to the representative it sounded like they’re going to give me a ShopYourWay credit equal to the purchase price of whatever I found. Now I have to call them back and give them the part number for the one I found. Maybe I’ll look around on their website a little more and see if I can find a $100,000 C-camp.
