[AT] Spark plugs

Gene, Dean is probably right about the Autolite 3076 being the "hottest" Autolite available.  I hopefully was able to attach a picture from a .pdf presentation by Andy Wiedeman for a Model A Ford automobile group. It shows the extended reach for the 3077 and the Champion W 16Y plugs on the inside of a Model A Ford head I presume.
>From what I can gather, the Champion 14 is of a similar heat range to the 3076, with the W 16Y being hotter (the picture shows it to be 3/8 inch longer than the 3076), and the W 18 plug being hotter yet (Brillman catalog lists it as a 3/4 inch reach).
The Brillman catalog shows the Champion W14, W16Y, and the W18 available, along with a couple other Champion 7/8 inch plugs.  The Autolite 3076 is the only Autolite listed for 7/8 inch.  I only mention Brillman as note of general availability, not necessarily as an endorsement.  So, if you didn't mind changing brands of plugs, the Champion may give you a hotter plug than you have now.
BTW, just checking to be sure you have copper spark plug wires.....non resistor type?   I don't know that resister wires would necessarily relate to fouling, but I hate to put any extra pressure on the mag.  I did come across one early Deere owner that swapped his plugs from side to side periodically,  as I think the #1 cylinder runs richer than the #2 side.
Take care,
John in Ferndale, CA ( I won't mention what our temperature was that had the whole town complaining yesterday!!, sure feel for most of the people with the heat right now.)

Subject: [AT] Spark plugs

I have been using AutoLite 3076 plugs while playing with my 38 G. Does anyone recommend a little hotter plug to keep from fouling. I have been reading & learning from
you-al, but now I have a question. Thanks for whatever you can relate.  Gene Derringer, Harrod, Ohio
