[AT] AC Cotton Stripper?

Yes, as Al said. To add a little detail:

The term “cotton picker” is generally used to refer to spindle type pickers. The spindle type machines pick relatively clean cotton from open boles. In some areas, cotton was picked in more than one pass, as in get what is open now then come back when younger boles have matured to the point of opening. They now have “bole opening” chemicals that can force the opening and reduce picking to a single pass.

In some of the drier areas, typically the high plains of west Texas etc. cotton doesn’t grow as tall or for as long a picking season. That is where “cotton harvesters” or strippers are more common. The head of a stripper is more like a big comb. The stem of the plant slides down through a slot while the stripper teeth rip everything off the plant. The harvested crop ends up with both open and closed boles, leaves, smaller stems, etc. Separating the lint from all the rest is done at the gin.

Much of the Arizona cotton has been grown in irrigated fields. So although it is definitely a dry area, a lot of the cotton is grown more like the southeastern areas and spindle picking has been extensively used.

Stripper cotton I believe is from the western part of the country, I can't remember all the states but I am thinking AZ and maybe west Texas grow a lot of it. A cotton stripper is a different animal than a cotton picker--mainly in the way the cotton is removed from the plant.

The October 2019 Allis Connection Calendar has a picture of a 1981 self propelled AC 880 Cotton Stripper (~ 12' swath; photo is from an oblique angle so can not determine number of rows) in action. The word 'picker' was not mentioned; which caused me to wonder as quite a few acquaintances are from south GA and they tell about 'picking cotton' when they were kids (dragging those bags through the field). Many on this forum are from up north and may be like me in that we have never pursued the picker/stripper situation. Herb(GA)
