This link shows steerable quad track type John Deere's. The only quad track I have photos of is a John Deere articulated track dozer.

When John Deere took over Lanz, who would have imagined that Mannheim would become such a center of tractor development. I wonder what percentage of John Deere's tractor design effort was performed at Mannheim at the time of acquisition of Lanz? Now?

In the early sixties, the Detroit auto companies were encouraged to hire the hard core unemployed of Detroit. I talked to a man who had seen a shooting right next to him and quit. This approach of training people just to be employees first may be a better one.
