Don’t cancel your travel plans yet. I’d call your power company. Out here PG&E picks up the tab if a surge kills equipment. My daughter got a new disposal, garage door opener and the Refrig fix all on them.

No worries here. Nice day yesterday and today. Earlier in the week I lost power for most of the day.

Power went off and came back on three times in less than a minute, then went off and stayed off.

When power came back on, everything seemed fine. The next day I opened the freezer to get some

ice and was greeted with water in the ice trays. The power outage killed my fridge. That is going to

put the kibosh on my plans to come to Portland this year. That fun money is now going to a new fridge.

Exciting weather here last night (SW Houston suburb).We were out and just got some rain, and missed

a small tornado nearby that took out power to thousands in area for a while. Tops broke off of some

power poles, farm sheds with roofs scattered about, and some tree and fence damage. Fortunately

our house kept power. Early morning reports were about 2200 without power, 4050 without power later

morning, and now down to about 1500 without power. My toy shed and surrounding neighborhood about

a mile from our house had been without power for 20 hours.
