Exciting weather here last night (SW Houston suburb). We were out and just got some rain, and missed a small tornado nearby that took out power to thousands in area for a while. Tops broke off of some power poles, farm sheds with roofs scattered about, and some tree and fence damage. Fortunately our house kept power. Early morning reports were about 2200 without power, 4050 without power later morning, and now down to about 1500 without power. My toy shed and surrounding neighborhood about a mile from our house had been without power for 20 hours.

We traveled over 1600 miles from WA state to ME IA earlier this week and only saw 3 tractors in the field in Eastern SD into NW IA. It appears that over 50% of the crop land is not going to be planted this year.

Tot too waterlogged here, Cecil. Got a heavy but brief rain last Friday
but the ground seemed to soak most of it up. The Brazos river East of me
is running about 1/2 full at the moment because the spillway at Waco is
open to keep Lake Waco from getting too high. Similar flow in the Little
River below Stillhouse Hollow for the same reason. Been pretty much
partly cloudy since last Friday. We could use a couple of weeks to dry out.
