This is getting to be quite an informative thread.  Keep it up. folks.  
Much appreciated.

I happen to really like that TSX Marvel Schebler carburetor. Basically 
trouble free except that all foreign matter, dirt, rust. etc. that 
naturally is heavier than gasoline goes to the bottom and restricts flow 
through the passages, both power and idle. They will run.  Just not 
right.  People end up banging on the poor carb with a hammer and messing 
with ignition and generally screwing up the whole thing until they throw 
the carb away and spend big bucks for another.
