Spencer, have you considered using Seafoam? Reason I mention this is a 
mechanic friend and I were discussing a recent increase in oil usage on 
an a combine engine and he suggested I may want to try it in the 
oil--he's thinking a ring was stuck from sitting so much of the year (we 
also discussed the possibility of valve seals needing replacement). The 
instructions are on the bottle for crankcase use as well as use in the gas.

By the way, is it only one cylinder doing all the oil burning? Guess you 
could pull the plugs to see how dirty they are.

since the last cutting is off?
