[AT] Batteries — 6 Volt now generators

Tyler,

How is the ammeter wired?? Is it showing the amperage coming off of the generator, or what is going into  the battery??
Watch what the ammeter does with the tractor off. Is there a current drain somewhere??? You might need to get an ammeter that is smaller to read small current drains if there are any. Generally multimeter ammeters will work for this.
Next, look at voltmeter at different intervals with the tractor off, such as every hour. If voltage drops much below 12 you either have a current draw somewhere or a bad battery.
Also, look at voltage when cranking engine. Generally voltage will drop to 7 or 8 volts when cranking. If voltage drops much less than this you have bad battery or bad starter.
