[AT] LPG Farmall 400 propane tank leak

Can anyone comment on whether to attempt to repair a small leak in a 
Farmall 400 LPG tank? This is the 50s model where the steering shaft 
goes right through the middle of the tank inside a pipe. It smells like 
the leak is inside that pipe. It's a very slow leak, but enough that I 
don't put much in it at once.
