Got a really old Deere combine (gas engine). After it sits for 11 months
I work the fuel pump by hand to prime everything. About 1/2 the time I
have to "bump" the starter so the manual lever will work. Of course I
have to climb up the back ladder to check the pump, then climb the front
ladder to bump the starter, then back up the back ladder to try priming
again, then back up the front ladder to crank it. Yep, good exercise
this old iron is!
