[AT] 430V mysteries

I have one of those manuals - the original from the owners.  Nothing in the manual specifically except this diagram(and it's cut off a bit).

The pin is different than what is showing in the parts diagram picture, but they can be inaccurate.  Plus the "S" hook is so perfectly formed to the pin I think it's actually right and original.  I also think my bracket is original, even though it is off-center. I do not believe that bracket was ever in the middle. There's no indication on the frame, and the spot weld for the bracket looks perfectly factory. I think I have it right:
