[AT] One added to collection

Warren,

I have a narrow front JD 420. I drove it home about 15 Miles when I got it. Main issue is steering box inside is very worn and it wondered bad on the road. I think the steering box wear had more to do with it than the narrow front.

Regarding stability, not sure there is much difference AS LONG AS THE FRONT AXLE IS NOT ON THE ROTATIONAL STOPS. The narrow front essentially pivots at the ground, and the wide front generally pivots on the axle pin. The higher pivot point does make it slightly more stable.

Remember, if anyone wants a JD MT, there is one for sale near Sealy Texas. If you are interested, contact me off list and I can get you contact info.

Thanks,
Dennis

I've always wondered how hard it is to drive a "trike" tractor in road
gear. Any stability issues? For that matter, how about hillsides?

Nice truck Dennis. (-;

I like to look at single wheel row crops. Used to have a John Deere MT
with a single front. That's when I realized I don't like to drive them
though.

That looks like a really nice tractor. Congrats!

John,

Need a few repairs like free up the starter/battery so it will work, fix
minor gas leak, and repair seat cushion. Plan to leave the rest close to
the way it is, other than put one lights on it, and either get adapters or
change out the 3 point arm connection to Cat 1, instead of the larger ones
on it now.

Thanks
Dennis

Looks nice. Leaving it as is or do you have any repairs to do this
winter?
