[AT] 430V update

I thought that two cylinder Deere's were always out of time... :-)
While you have the manifold off, stick that bore-scope inside of it and
look for anything "funny".
Back when my father bought his Ferguson TO-20 new it had a consistent and
annoying running problem and it about drove the dealer nuts. They tuned,
re-tuned and went over and over it. Tore it down to re-set the valve-lash
Then they started replacing parts. New manifold gasket, new carb, new dist
cap, new wires, new distributor,, changed out the fuel valve/sediment bowl.
Nothing they did helped it... Finally my father suggested that they replace
the manifold. The dealer's shop foreman said he didn't see how that could
make any difference but my father said "You have replaced about everything
else". So they put a new manifold on it and everybody lived happily ever
after...
The dealer had been in contact with the factory through much of the problem
and they asked the dealer to send the old one back to them. They band-sawed
it in half and in an area that you couldn't see they found a casting flaw
(described as a "glob" of iron) that was partially obstructing the flow to
one end cylinder. I don't remember now if it was the front or back but I
don't guess it matters. :-)
