As I remember my uncles story, and from my own memory as my cousin still 
has his dads newer D-17, four bolts hold on the rear housing which has 
the lift cylinder and the lift arms in it. My understanding is that you 
can replace the hose without taking anything else apart. Which begs the 
question of what were the mechanics smoking when they tore the whole 
tractor apart.
