[AT] You can't fix stupid-naming names

My take on auto parts store--it depends a LOT on who is on duty. I use
Oreileys a lot. I needed a drain for the new radiator I put in the 4020
last week--the one with it broke (you'd think $500 for a radiator and it
would include a decent drain). I told dad to stop and pick up one his
next trip to town, sent the bad one with him. Well, they couldn't look
up one up no matter how hard they tried. So the manager whips out his
smart phone, logs into Deere's part site, gets the Deere number for a
radiator drain, puts it in his store computer and produced a part he
didn't know he had. Guy went to a LOT of effort just to sell a $5 part.
Same store, I was rebuilding a mower deck for a old Cub Cadet--needed
bearings and seals. Called the store and talked to a buddy of mine. Gave
him the Cadet # of one item, he crossed it over. The next number he
couldn't cross from Cadet so I gave him the number off the seal, no
problem. Whole ordeal took 2 minutes, ordered them that night and they
were in the store when I got off work the next day.
Same store, need a crankshaft seal for a Kohler engine. I had the
Kohler part number. It took 3 tries to get him to understand "Kohler",
finally the guy said he had no idea what to do. It's all about who is
behind the counter.
