Being from areas that have crawfish you wouldn't bother to eat, I was nearly 40 before I ate one. When I did it was one of the most authentic eating experiences I ever had. It was near Mobile Bay AL. I was on a business trip meeting with some folks in the cargo container shipping business. One of them found out that we had never eaten crawfish before. A big smile came on their faces and the game was on.

They took us to the middle of nowhere on a long shell road beside a tidal marsh/brackish creek. We finally arrived at a building on stilts that looked like it would blow over with a good sneeze.  There were no other signs of civilization around.  Outside were 30 pickups and inside were 50 people and two items on the menu: crawfish and Budweiser.  I never could stomach sucking head but I pinched plenty of tail.   And Anheuser-Busch stayed in business for another day.  (-;

Great video of the Bessemer - sorry to see the whoopin' you took. And like Thomas said - you were pretty calm - I would've been jumping and hollerin' (-;
