Hi Mark:

Here is a cut and paste of Ivan's note:

> I have the same problem with my farmall a if it sits a couple months . By
accident I stumbled onto a way to start it even when its damp outside .
JC whitney used to sell a emergency ignition system for gm with the
early electronic system . It is basically a high voltage supply that
makes a continious spark able to jump a 1/2 inch . One wire to B+,one
to B - third wire goes into the center of the distributor cap . It has
a evil whine to it but it takes about two revolutions to start the
tractor , let it run for about two minutes and shut it down and put the
regular coil wire back on . Something about the points running for a
short time shatters the corrosion right off them and it will run after
that for a couple months .
There is a guy in canada who sell a kit for a similar device, all you
have to do is assemble it and use it . Price is very reasonable . Ivan
