Sitting out the worst March winds I have ever known for Oklahoma.
Finally today it died down. Have ahd 35 to 45 sustained winds here
since Sunday. Wife & I both have a severe respiratory problems and with
the fires upwind now, it is really bad. You can see the ash floating in
the air down here 80 miles away. I finally bought a hydraulic
dovetail trailer, Picked it up Saturday, and spent yesterday and this
morning getting my old 2000 Chevy 1ton to actuate the electric brakes.
It seems the controller has been the problem for the last 10 years...
The Chevy dealer hooked it up wrong years ago. After going from the
firewall to the bumper, the brakes work!! First time I have had
electric brakes working on a trailer in 25 years.. It is a Load Max
22000lb 30 ft x 8.5 ft pintle hitch dual tandem with a hydraulic
dovetail and hydraulic jacks. It is unreal how quickly it can be hooked
up and load and unload. First time today got to use it hauling my MIL's
Cadillac. Now I can move the old tractors around to the other fields
and have a truck with me without having to get my wife to follow me.
Picking up those ramps was just getting too much to handle.

As you get older, you tend to get nicer toys to play with.. Now to get
the C8500 Chevrolet with the Cat motor and Allison finished to pull it.
I have to say it was the easiest trailer I ever pulled with that old gas
engine Chevrolet. I really did not feel like I needed a diesel with
that 454..
