Tyler,
My computer that is in for repair is very high performance computer even compared to what is being offered at stores. It is a quad core current generation processor, 16 GB memory. 500 GB Solid State main memory along with a 1 TBD hard disk.  I believe the clock rate is over 3.5 Gh   It also has a very high performance graphics card. It is a custom built computer with all high performance components.  I won't be looking to replace this in the near future. Maybe when I get old.
The only hardware failure I've ever had on this computer was one of the 4GB memory modules failed.  I sent it to Micron in Idaho and they sent me a new replacement 4GB memory module  free of charge.
I just received a call that my computer should be ready tomorrow morning. They have run a complete and extensive hardware diagnostic and I was told the machine came out completely clean,
Tablets have come a long way but I have really missed my Desktop Top computer.

Hi Ralph and Dean,
One of the pieces of advice I would give anybody buying a new computer
is, buy it for the future.
When I was in 6th grade, my father bought me a HP laptop. Of course it
was back in 2008, when, if you had 1 gig of ram you were up in the
world.
The computer lasted me from 2008 to 2015 as my main computer.
Of course it couldn't be upgraded, and by the time I retired it, it
was on it's fourth install of windows xp, and was on its third hard
drive.
It just sits in my office and runs my icecast server now. I wouldn't
put it up to doing anything real big, though.
When I graduated high school, I bought another HP laptop. It has 1 TB
of hard drive space, 16 gigs of ram, and a pretty high end processor.
I won't have to buy another computer for at least ten years, because
this one was bought to keep up with the future. I can upgrade it to
windows 10, and probably the next operating system that MS releases.
One thing I have learned is that you can buy cheap crap, or you can
spend a little more and buy something good that will last for a long
time.
Take Care,
