SO make sure you have installed Service Pack "One" and you should be OK until 2020 I think the issue may be facing is that Win 7 still uses Internet Explorer as it's Browser and Windows 10 has moved on to a new browser "Edge". I haven't checked to see if MS is even still supporting IE. Around 48% of the world is still using Win 7. You might want to check if some start-up add-ons have gotten in to your system without your knowledge. I use what used to be called Crap Cleaner now called CCLEANER By Piraform to keep the system cleaned of trash that builds up over time. I use the free version. Then I use a paid for diagnostic and system cleaner from IOBIT, I can't think of name right now but it is very comprehensive catching all the crap that floats around on the Internet. It's not all that expensive less than $20 a year. I've learned to appreciate all that it does to keep the system running at peak performance. It's called Advanced System Care by IOBIT. I would recommend that.
Thanks for the info Dean. I have not used internet explorer in a few
years as I've had google chrome for a browser . They tell me it is a bit
safer and I'm ok with that. I have CC here
as well and use it once in a while to clean up the junk that accumulates
from surfing the net. Its a bit like working with old tractors and
machinery. A person learns to
get along with their idiosyncrasies and still get the job done. Although
I think the day is coming when this laptop will crash for the last time
and be replaced.
