The conversion kits I have used consist of a 1" thick collar that is
sandwiched between the carb and the air filter. Champion did send me a new
carb to have on hand in the event that it came down to a carb problem.
It's still in the box. Everything so far has pointed to the pump.

It runs fine without the pump on both gas and LP. Looking back, I probably
bought too much power washer. I'm 5' 4" and my wife is even shorter. She
cannot hold the wand, it has 4200psi. After 5 minutes of using it, my arms
start to hurt. But... it gets the dirt off :)

It has a neat feature that allows you to shut the engine down at the wand
and start it back up again from the wand.

The engine is not seized and will crank over by pulling the starter cord.

I drained what was left of the oil and so far have strained 1 tiny piece of
metal, about the size of a piece of rice. After I got the rest of the oil
out, I re-filled it with more oil hoping to see more crud floating out.
The oil is not draining I put nearly 2 quarts of oil in it and so far have
seen a dribble come out. I removed the fill plug to let air in but that
doesn't seem to make any difference. I use Drainzit hoses and stuck a
coathanger into the hose and could get inside the block but roto rootering
the hose didn't make any diff.

Any suggestions on how to get the oil and crud to start draining?

Thanks
