When I added the LP adapter that went between the air filter and the carb,
it extended the distance between the crankcase opening on the back of the
air filter housing and the crankcase.  I did have to extend the rubber
breather hose by just over an inch.  I used a metal sleeve that just barely
fit in the two open ends of the hose. So it did cut down the volume of air
that could pass through the hose slightly.

Muffler has a pipe that connects it to the engine.
