Thats it right there, If you don't start at the radiator and go out the 
PTO shaft, you are going to play mechanic--I don't care what brand or 
how well maintained. Everything we have is old and well taken care of, 
but very used. It always seems we have wrenches to turn.  No way you 
could run a"make a living for the family" type of farm using old stuff. 
Likewise, hobbyists and part timers don't own tractors with warranties 
unless their paycheck is seriously subsidizing the operation.
