My Air Force unit in Germany had a few Unimogs when I was stationed there in the late 1980s, and my recollection is they were sort of highway capable:   50-60 mph or so, although as Gene pointed nobody bought them for the smooth ride.    Hell for stout tough, is what I mostly remember.
