I do two things. One is a Carbonite subscription (costs a bit of money)
and the second is an external drive I can remove.  I do Carbonite
because it keeps multiple copies which is of benefit if you get hit with
ransomware and because I get an off site backup. I do the external drive
so I have quick access if I do something stupid like delete a single file.

If using Firefox there used to be a utility called Mozbackup that would
backup settings and bookmarks from FF. At the time it also worked with
Thunderbird email  and with Seamonkey (a single program that combines
the two). I have not tried this on a Win 10 machine.
