I don't remember the exact details but I read somewhere, that saying
comes from a real situation.  Maybe in Europe or possibly somewhere like
NY City in the old days,  there were people that would buy urine for some 
reason
and they would come around and go down the street with a tank on a cart or 
truck
or behind a horse or something and folks would take their night pots and 
pour them
out the window into the tank.  Maybe true, maybe be urban legend.  I don't 
know.
Just something that was rattling around in the back of my head taking up 
space and causing me to
need to defrag my brain.

throw it out."  My father used that one all the time.
