Dave PS, Sorry you live in NY!
(Beautiful part where you live, but governed by NYC!)

Most of us in upstate would gladly give the city away.... I've tried to
give it back to the Indian tribes but even they don't want it... I keep
hoping that the movie Escape From New York will become a historical fact....

Couple short slide shows showing some of the damage. Couldn't take
pictures myself, Was out for 6 days straight with the fire department.
Didn't even know if my place was still there until the third day.

The main issue was that all the trees and debris would snag, water would
build until the blockage gave way. Wiped out a few houses, 1 fatality.
The Feds came in and started asking the locals questions and they went
after the State wanting to know why the state placed all of us below
some damned stocked trout.... The kicker is that now that everything
is re-routed and large sections of the creeks bed were scoured to
bedrock, There are no plans to re-stock the fish.
