[AT] OT

Len I started to go with the one with the extendable pole but decided
it might just be to unwieldy for the majority of my uses. I figure I stand
6' so if I hold the saw at shoulder height I can reach around 13 feet with
it.
If I need to get higher I'll do it out of a tractor seat or the back of a
truck or
trailer. Either way they sure are handy!

I've got one with the extendable pole, it sure beats riding in the loader
bucket with the wife driving, but don't tell her I said that!

Richard, I bought a Stihl pole saw this summer.
It's the one with the 7' fixed pole. It's only slightly
heavier than a weed eater. You put the strap over
your shoulders and saw standing up. It has a 12" bar
and will cut hardwood logs the full 12". If I have a complaint
about it, the chains are small and don't hold up like full size
saw chains but they don't cost a lot either. No more bending over
or constantly moving around. Stand in one place and make lots of
cuts.
