Spencer, TSC fluid is as cheap as you can get when it comes to
additive's and quality control. I recently needed to change the fluid in
my Mahindra tractor and used TSC fluid. It works fine, but i do notice a
chatter when the bucket is raised that I didn't have before, nothing
major. I'm due for another change at 1000 hours and have ordered Mobil
Fluid 424 online. It was a little more, but I'm sure much less than the
Bobcat brand. Using a brand name gives me a better feeling, plus the
pour point was much better in cold weather, something you don't need to
worry about, but I do. Unless you have a major leak and are only topping
off a quart a year, I would fill it with whatever was locally available
that meets Bobcats' specs.

The current fluid is recent fluid change and is a bobcat brand, because there was a main hydraulic line that had to be replaced so they completely redid the oil when they did the line. Can I get something from tractor supply to top it off? Or should I use bobcat brand only? I've hit up The construction forums but there seems to be a bunch of guys whose use their equipment for commercial use, and they just simply don't want to risk offbrand oil's. So not much help. They just say use Bobcat. But for my little farm I don't mind risking it. I run it 30 hours a year. Not 30 hours a week.
