How about this for a cheap alternative. Tap the hole for a 1"-12 ( I
think that is fine thread, double check please) buy a bolt, drill and
tap it whatever 5/8 thread you need--plenty deep. Soak it in Loctite and
screw it in the tractor. Next day cut off the unused portion of the
bolt, grind smooth and you should be good to go. If you are really
worried it would You could drill thru the intersection of the bolt OD
and the tapped hole and drive in roll pins, basically doing what the key
locking insert from Mcmaster would do. If this is more or less for looks
on a show tractor, I'd just Loctite it. I bet you can do this for $5 if
you can borrow the tap--I'd prefer to have the hole tapped in the bolt
on a lathe.
