I picked up a D14 this last week. A 1960 with a front loader and rear back
blade made for the snap coupler what a massive unit. Anyone know of a right
side hood panel this one is missing. Can anyone tell me if the power
director and the transmission share the same gear oil? I have ordered
manuals from Ebay should be here next week. The dipstick with a cap is that
for the hydraulic oil or transmission? Whatever it needs to be changes as
it is a milky soup. Where do you check and fill the power steering fluid
obviously it is out as this thing is a beast trying to turn the wheel.

Went to pick it up about 85 miles from home. I had seen it and talked to a
guy who knew it ran a year or so ago. Carb was messed up and 2 people had
had it off. Had to file points to get fire but still no start. Took off the
carb and looked but could get no gas through it. Put some gas down the carb
intake and it popped but could not make it run.

I knew what I had to do so left the trailer there and drove home 200 miles
round trip. So had to take the carb home and boil it out clean the main
jet replace the drain plug on bottom of carb had to drill it out was stuck
tight. Replaced it with a drain cock. Cut new gaskets and reassembled.
Went back put carb back on. Hit the starter and it started right up.
Running real rich haven't even attempted to tune it yet just wanted it to
run enough to get it on trailer.

After starting and putting in gear it moved but not very convincingly I
thought oboy may have to replace the clutch pulled up to the trailer and
then the wheels hit the ramp it stopped moving. I didn't know about the
power director it was in neutral but still allowed it to move when I pulled
back on the handle for low it moved ok to load on trailer. Got it home after
2 trips and 400 miles.

Once I get the books I will flush the fluids, probably have to get a new
manifold to be able to put a muffler on it make some type of hood for the
right side or find a hood. Anyone know if a parts yard in the Northwest
Washington area?

Anybody looking for a D14 with loader and back blade and drawbar for snap
coupler?
