Not to argue but I can't see it as any more work. I replaced a head
gasket on one of our IH gas tractors within the last 2 years, I bought
$45 worth of bolts from Fastenal for it. Got a buddy that lost a gasket
on a 3010 Deere, He brought the head over to the shop Sat to clean it
up. Gave him a can of Copper-kote and loaned him the torque wrench and
gave him a sequence diagram. He doesn't have the money to send the head
to be checked for cracks and faced so he's going to try just a head gasket.
I guess all I'm saying is if you are anything like me you enjoy old
stuff, but can't afford to buy what someone else has already fixed up,
so you have take some chances and do your own repairs. Hey at least you
get an education!
