[AT] Transporting a Massey Ferguson 135 across country

I'm a fan of manual transmissions, too, and I hate to tell you Ivan but it
ain't some college boy at GM.  If We The People were wanting to buy them,
GM (and Ford and Ram) would be falling all over themselves to build them
for us.

On the upside, today's automatics are pretty robust and reliable, and
they're really what you need if you're plowing snow.  Also, if you've ever
operated a hydrostatic tractor, a truck with an automatic gives you a
little of that same infinite speed adjustability when you need it, takes
just a bit of intelligent two-footed driving, where a clutch would take a
beating.

I love manuals for my commuter cars, but alas the government is forcing VW
to "repossess" my diesel Sportwagen with the 6-speed manual.  Not sure what
the next car will be, but manuals are sort of a dying breed.
