  Scott ,
Some words of wisdom for Spencer and S O definately worth reading
again .
Another possibility , a friend recently moved south from PA to SC
and was considering rental trucks . And the security of sommeone will
rescue you in the event of a problem is great . However they consideered
all costs and found out a local truccking company right in town had a
better choice . They come out with a smallish semi piggyback and spot it
where you want it . Load at your leisure and tell them when to pick it
up . When you are ready to have it deliverd a phone call is all it
takes , meantime it sits in the trailer at a safe place and storage is
included in the price . Their cost was very competitive with U haul and
totally hassle free . All you have to worry about is your own vehicle
and clothes for traveling .
I too am a fan of chevys , especially with manual transmision ! Alas,
some colledge boy at GM thinks they are no where as good as the
automatics . As far as trailers watch what you buy ,a good well
built unit will serve you many years . I found a place that custom built
a 18 ' flatbed with a dropped axle so it is just higher than a snakes
belly . But it trails so much better than a deckover , no sway bars
needed even at max weight . Mine came with heavy duty brand new 8 ply
tires . Ivan
