[AT] I want a M Farmall......

Al, forget about the lottery tickets. You are outnumbered
by the folks ahead of you in line buying them with money
from their welfare and retirement checks while you are in
a hurry to get a cup of coffee and get to work so you can
refill the fund that pays for their lottery habit. YOU will
never win.

I know you know that. I wish I could help with the M. I haven't even
seen one lately. At least not one that isn't in dire need of major
repairs. I'm not sure I've even seen one of those as I try to block them
out of my mind for fear they will follow me home to get in line behind
all of the A-C projects I haven't finished.

Good luck buddy!

Charlie

Every time I walk to my little shop ("the skunkworks") I pass my
"corn picker without a tractor." It sure looks lonely without a
Farmall M to sit on. I'm hoping my budget will level out so that I
can find one for it this winter. I've been watching Craigslist,
TractorHouse, Ebay, the (NC) Agricultural Review, etc. They seem to
be expensive here in NC and cheaper as you head towards
Ohio/Iowa/Indiana/etc. Looks like $1500 is about the cheapest one can
be had that is ready to roll...I'll be wanting one that I can take
home and mount up with the corn picker, not a project.

It's so bad I have even thought about selling my 856, it literally
hasn't been started in a year, it's got some injector pump issues that
I haven't fully sorted out. But, with pump issues and slick rear
tires, I know I'd take a bath on it, so I guess she stays. I've never
felt more "10 feet tall" than when I'm on that tractor, even though
it's not exactly practical for what I need, so I would miss it.

I need to start buying lottery tickets I guess......

Al
