Unfortunately the ones we are subjected to are nothing but stirring the 
pot and actually manage to manipulate what happens here. I used to love 
reading them in the newspaper (which I no longer subscribe to--heck the 
news is a day old instead of 5 minutes), those never seemed to influence 
things much, just give different perspectives.

Anyway, the good news is no more political ads for a while!
