Here is a link to a description of Mobil 424 fluid.
http://petroleumservicecompany.com/mobilfluid-424/
Here is another one that indicates it is has the viscosity of 80W gear
oil
http://www.matweb.com/search/datasheet.aspx?matguid=34113f143db14c43b8a38babfe7172d8&ckck=1
It first appears to be just a universal tractor fluid as it converts
over to Chevron THF 1000. However, when I read down into the specs on
the Mobil, it states it meets API GL-4 80W oil for rear ends and it also
states it is the same as a type A hydraulic fluid. Type A is the old
Dexron... The 80W viscosity interchanges to a 20W motor oil.
That site has an interchange for many different oil brands. Shell Donax
has 3 different types in that Donax listing.

You do not say if this is a power shift hydrostat transmission if so, I
would use only the best oil I could find. The newer pumps are pushed
for all they are worth to get the pressures out of them. It could be
that the oil is not heavy enough and gets hot. However, I would think
you would notice a drop in performance..

Amazon has Mobil 424 fluid for $77 for 5gallons. My TS110 New Holland
requires Mystic JT5 which is $75 for 5gal, or I can get the New Holland
oil for $85 /bucket.. I think it has got to where a good hyd oil is
expensive...
