Look up plasma cutters. They use electric and air from your air 
compressor. Biggest problem is they are expensive. A cheap one is under 
a thousand but one that will cut one half inch steel is over $2500. Also 
they are best for cutting flat steel. They will not work for some uses 
like when I have to cut a bearing off a shaft or cut angle iron off the 
side of square tubing but they are great for some things.
