I have been using the old AC 7030 pulling the 1340 Hesston Rotary
swather. It pulls it great. however, when the oil gets hot, it takes a
while in high gear to get the clutch to engage. I don't know if it is
adjustment or it needs a few clutch piston rings. I would have to dig
out 3 cans of foam insulation to find the adjustment. I had to use the
foam and an old Mud Flap to stop the engine heat from coming up through
the dash. It was like a hair dryer. The Air cond will coll the cab
down to about 85 degrees, so its a lot better than no cab and much
better than a cab without air...
Those old 7030's were good tractors., Allis made some good tractors,
but their engineers must have been anorexic.. I have to take the
steering wheel off to get into the cab and in the seat.
