That is quite a story Cecil. Bad enough to have the high parts prices
but worse when they are the wrong fit.
It could be worse. I need a new front brake drum for my 1600 Loadstar as
the original is worn past the recommended
diameter for re cutting. Would you believe IH does not have them for a
1971 model? And so far nowhere else I have
tried has them either. This truck does not see much road use except
between farms at seeding and harvest times.
It does need brakes though. So far they work fine but I've spent a lot
of money on wheel and master cylinders
over the years. The rest of the truck could go for years but if the
brakes wear out and new drums are not available
I may have to park it.
