Actually you are safer if there is no ground because touching a wire won't complete a circuit. There are several fire scenarios where a breaker (fuse) didn't trip that ground prevents so in a building you need ground. 

Make sure you use perfect extention cords though. Without ground nasty things can happen if a cord goes back.
