Good morning,
Just got back from a 1900mi, 36hr, mad dash from SW Michigan to the Boston area. Wound up with more than we set out to get. My best buddy Larry had found a 1939 IHC I-14, complete, for a reasonable price out there. So like we have done at various times before, we bought it. Scheduling was tight but we could run out this weekend. Gathered Larry's son up and off we went Friday evening. Got to Mass. Saturday morning and met with the seller (great guy). Fortunately, the weather couldn't have been better even though the Boston area had a hard, wet snow Friday. The I-14 was every bit of what we expected, needs some TLC but everything is there and free. Well we talked a bit and the seller had a Cub he would part with that was also a nice deal. I have a 12 year old grandson that would rather restore a Cub (his 1st choice) rather than have a quad or play video games, etc, so this Cub jumped right on the trailer and followed us home also. Got back here at 6:00 this morning. We pushed it way to hard (rotated out driving frequently so kept it safe) and are really dragging today. Definitely not as young as we wish we still were! This afternoon his Mom is bring my grandson over for some unexplained reason, he has no idea the tractor is here. Should be great fun, now and during his first restoration project.
Couldn't wish for a better weekend this!
David
