[AT] Off Topic -- burning wood

Interesting article. I note especially the part about NOT burning Bois D’Arc because it can pop and spit hot embers. That it does. I have acres of the damn stuff and have had some spectacular outdoor bonfires disposing of a tiny fraction of it. Piling up a giant mound of branches sometimes results, during the bonfire, in bigger logs catching fire but then being buried under accumulating ash and laying there cooking for hours. When they eventually get hit with an air supply again they go off like the fourth of July.

That said, it's some mighty high-BTU wood for burning, heck of a lot of heat energy available relative to the size of the logs, so I've burned it in wood stoves in the house also. No issues so far (they're enclosed stoves with solid/glass doors, not open fireplaces or screens), but probably worth being a lot more careful about.

ThoYou will be OK burning Cedar Elm. See: http://arborwizard.com/burn-this-not-that-by-dallas-tree-specialist <http://arborwizard.com/burn-this-not-that-by-dallas-tree-specialist> and http://www.forestryforum.com/board/index.php?topic=15118.0 <http://www.forestryforum.com/board/index.php?topic=15118.0>

PS, Be sure to split it upside down (as with all woods) PPS, How many doves did you shoot?
PPS, Is it difficult “leading” then backwards?
