Most importantly, make sure anything you get is automatic. 
(Automatically stops charging once the battery is fully charged, or at least
reduces to a maintenance trickle charge) You will seldom know how many
minutes of charge your battery needs, to be fully charged. Overcharging is
always detrimental to the battery.
